Why should I pack it in my hospital bag?
Hot and cold perineal pack address different needs during and after childbirth. During stage two of labour, hot compress reduces the tension of the perineal area, making everything a bit more stretchy and comfy (no one wants to worry about tearing!).
Then, once your little one arrives, switch to the cold compress. It is especially effective in the first 24-72 hours after delivery for relieving pain and reducing swelling, which aids in the recovery of common postpartum issues (such as tears, episiotomy and stitches), making your recovery feel a whole lot smoother.

How to use the postpartum hot pack?
Heat promotes muscle relaxation, eases tension in the pelvic floor muscles and surrounding areas, while also improving blood circulation to the uterus and pelvic area. This dual effect can aid in managing labour pains and enhance uterine contractions, potentially promoting labour progression.
Gently place pack with disposable cover on the perineum as baby's head stretches the perineal tissues. Prevent direct contact with the skin.

How to use the postpartum cold pack?
Cold compresses provide pain relief and reduce swelling in the perineal area, aiding in the recovery of common postpartum issues, such as tears, episiotomy, or haemorrhoids. It helps to decrease inflammation and promotes healing of wounds and stitches. Additionally, the numbing effect of cold can alleviate immediate postpartum discomfort and provide soothing relief.
Gently place pack with disposable cover on the perineum where you are experiencing discomfort. Prevent direct contact with the skin. If using together with a maternity pad, place the pad underneath.
