Britax Car Seat Tex Series | Review

Britax's convertible car seats just got a makeover ~ introducing NanoTex Fabric! Checkout the video and read on for the key features that make this series of car seats a must for everyday parents!

The Britax TEX Series, features four convertible car seats:

1. B-First Clicktight TEX features NEW click tight installation technology making it the most advanced Convertible Car seat in the range.

2. Graphene is the slimmest design and is perfect for families who require multiple seats across the back or have a compact car with little room behind the front seats.

3. B-First iFix TEX offers the most advanced safety features and stunning modern stylings. It has a cleverly-designed closed protective shell featuring ISOFIX compatibility and Advanced Side Impact Cushion Technology (SICT) protection.

4. Safe-n-Sound B-Grow Clicktight TEX is the latest addition to the TEX range and is perfect for children aged 12 months all the way to eight years. It features a Patented Grow-With-You Adjustable Crotch Buckle with a unique four position adjustable crotch buckle that grows with your child.

Britax have been manufacturing child car seats for over 40 years and are leaders in developing innovative technologies, for example ISOFIX was developed to assist parents with easier installation – and most recently, NanoTex a water-repellant and stain-resistant fabric, combined with Thermo5 Bamboo technology has been developed to make a more comfortable and longer-lasting car seat.

Each of these car seats have unique features, but all share some common Britax technologies such as ISOFLEX® and NanoTex®. To make it easy for you to decide which car seat is right for you and your family we’ve created the below table.

NanoTex® Spill Protection is a new fabric that incorporates liquid barrier technology which makes spills bead up and just roll off the seat. Clean up is a breeze and the look and feel of your car seat stays the same.

SICT gives your child added protection and will give you that extra peace of mind knowing your baby will be safer with this feature. SICT Torso Protection reduces crash forces which minimises the impact on a child’s chest and vital organs. For the Head Protection, there are two layers that minimises the energy generated in a side impact crash. The inner layer provides 180 protection for a child’s head and the outer layer on the seat exterior absorbs immediate crash energy.

ISOFIX is the international standard attachment point for child safety seats, it is an alternative method to securing with seat belts. Britax ISOFLEX® connectors allow for easier and more correct installation to vehicles with low ISOFIX anchor points.

Studies have shown that toddlers are five-times safer if they are in a rear-facing car seat. With the TEX Series, children can be in the rear-facing position until they are between 2 to 3 years old.

Active Head Restraint provides additional protection with deeper side wings that contain a child’s head in case of a side impact crash.

The harness automatically repositions the shoulder straps, and the buckle is always in a forward position, preventing children from sitting on the buckle when boarding.

There is also a Flexi Infant Safety Cushion which has EVA composite material that provides support and protection for a small baby by absorbing energy during a side impact crash. The detachable wings make the cushion flexible.

When it comes to preparing for Bub's arrival, a baby car seat will be one of the essential items on your checklist. Choosing a car seat can be an overwhelming decision, not only because there’s so much choice, and everyone in your circle will have an opinion on which one is the best, but also because your baby’s safety will be top of mind. Some key features you will consider during this process will include:

• How long will your child be able to use the seat (in rear & forward facing positions)
• What are the additional safety features of the seat (think air-bags in your car)
• How easy is the installation of the seat (especially if you need to switch the seat between cars)
